December 4, 2012—Jeff Wassmer, President and CEO of Spectrum Comm Inc., was appointed by the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) Board of Commissioners to serve as its Vice Chairman on November 27th.  He was first appointed to the VPA by Governor McDonnell on July 15, 2011.  Since his appointment, Mr. Wassmer served as Chairman of the Security/Safety Committee and as a member of the Marketing/Business Development Committee.

As Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Wassmer will serve on the Executive Committee and serve as an ex officio member of all Standing Committees, helping to oversee Port operations.

Mr. Wassmer states, “It was an honor to be appointed by Governor McDonnell to the VPA Board in 2011 and now I am equally honored to appointed by my fellow Commissioners to serve as their Vice Chairman. We have some challenges ahead but we will welcome them as a united force.”
