Spectrum Announced as One of the Best Places to Work in Hampton Roads

On July 15th 2009 Spectrum was once again honored for being one of The Best Places to Work in Hampton Roads. This marks the seventh year that Inside Business has honored companies for their commitment and excellence to their number one asset – employees. To apply for this honor, Spectrum submitted a bundle of information on benefits, culture, employee satisfaction and community service. Employees were then asked to participate in a survey supporting the company they worked for. Inside Business then sorted through the applications and ended with an upper echelon of companies that they consider to be the Best Places to Work for in Hampton Roads.

Spectrum has been a part of this prestigious group for three years now and considers this to be a very important award. As the company has always stated, employees are the most valued asset to the work Spectrum does and their happiness is very important. Culture is a main concern of all of the Senior Staff at Spectrum and it is apparent the minute you walk into Spectrum’s facility. As the President and CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “You can smell the culture when you walk through the door.”

Now with 107 local employees and over 250 employees world-wide Spectrum’s employee incentives are more important than ever. As the company continues to grow, Spectrum is looked at as a leader in employee benefits, community service and culture. A highlight of employment with Spectrum is the Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP). The ESOP allows employees to directly benefit in the success of the company. Spectrum also recently formed the Spectrum Foundation to coordinate and focus its community involvement and giving. Spectrum has long been viewed as a vital community partner and looks forward to continuing its community support. All employees are able to join the Foundation and participate as it grows and matures.
