Newport News, VA & Warner Robins, GA – June 5, 2013 – Employees from three Spectrum locations represented the Spectrum Foundation by forming Relay for Life teams. To date, the teams have collectively raised more than $9,000, exceeding our $7,500 goal.  Spectrum matched donations for all locations.  On Friday, May 17, more than 25 Spectrum employees and family members participated in the Hampton, VA and Perry, GA walks. Some even stayed overnight in the Hampton location, powering through rain and thunderstorms.  The company’s MA team walks on Friday, June 14 at the Westford, MA event and continues to raise money in the fight against cancer.

President & CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “Cancer knows no demographic boundaries.  It is important that we all raise awareness of cancer, cancer prevention, and early treatment.  I was very pleased that our employees and especially family members came together to support this important cause, and have fun while doing it. We look forward to the results of our MA team’s event.”

On January 1, 2009 Spectrum implemented the “Spectrum Foundation.” This Foundation serves as the governing body for all of Spectrum’s charitable giving.   The Spectrum Foundation is a donor advised fund managed by the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia.
