August 1, 2013 – Newport News, VA – Spectrum CEO Jeffrey D. Wassmer announces William K. Stulb (Bill) as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. This internal promotion is effective today.
Bill joined Spectrum in August 2012 as the company’s second Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Since his leadership at Spectrum began, Bill has been instrumental in defining our future business model and technical initiatives. He also further stream-lined current business practices. Bill brought a wealth of leadership and management experience with him to Spectrum. As a Surface Warfare Officer and Nuclear Propulsion Engineer in the U.S. Navy, he served in three combatant ships before transferring to the reserve force, where he gained major staff experience. He retired as a Captain (O-6). His prior business experience includes retail, manufacturing, and government contracting where he enjoyed success in positions of expanding scope and responsibility in operations, human resources, program management, finance and mergers & acquisitions. Bill has over 14 years in executive leadership roles as president for a manufacturing company and as chief financial officer for a large shipyard/industrial services company.
Jeff remains the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Jeff states, “My key role of focusing on the organization, culture, and strategic vision has not changed. Our environment, however, has changed and these unique times require flexibility and leadership. I am committed to our success and believe Bill’s new role will further this success as we grow forward.”
