Spectrum ranked in the large employer category on the 2014 Best Places to Work in Virginia list hosted by Virginia Business and Best Companies group. This marks the third year Spectrum has placed on this distinguished list of VA companies.

The “Best Places to Work” award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia benefiting the state’s economy, its work force and businesses. The 2014 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of a total of 100 companies, split into three groups: Small employers (fewer than 100 employees); mid-sized employers (100-249 employees); and large-sized employers (more than 250 employees).

Organizations from across the state entered the two-part application process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics which counted as 25% of the total evaluation. Seventy-five percent of the evaluation was based on the results of an employee satisfaction survey. The combined scores determined the top organizations and final rankings, a process managed by Best Companies Group.

Spectrum CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “It is an honor to make this list and quite an accomplishment given the tumultuous environment government contractors have found themselves in the past couple years.  To have our employees remain dedicated during this time is company goal and a success in it of itself.”
